Kenansville – Mrs. Pearlene Miller Faison, 83 passed away peacefully with family by her side at the home of her daughter in Raleigh, NC.
Pearlene is survived by one daughter, Linda D. Faison of Raleigh, NC; one son, Lenward A. Faison of Raleigh, NC; one granddaughter, Crystal L. Faison (aka “Crissy”) of Atlanta, GA; an aunt, Nina Miller Belton of Kenansville,NC; her special cousin, Jannie Miller Walker of Leland, NC and a host of other beloved cousins, relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, father, mother, stepfather, Mr. Willie L. Sloan, and by four half-brothers.
Pearlene was born on October 26, 1931 in Kenansville, NC to the late Euretha Miller Sloan and the late Levi Moore. She married the late Robert L. Faison in 1948 and was a homemaker until deciding to enter college to pursue a degree in Education. Pearlene graduated from Fayetteville State University with a BS in Elementary Education in 1971. She tirelessly worked as an educator in the Duplin County Public School System and held several positions in the County until her retirement in June 2009.
