Pearlean Ervin King, a native and resident of Leroy, better known to family and friends as “Pearl,” made her earthly transition on Sunday, March 22, 2020, while residing at Washington County Nursing Home. Born on Jan. 22, 1943 to Albert Ervin Sr. and Sophie Donald Ervin, she was 77 years of age. She was a member of Good Stone AME Zion Church in Leroy. 

Pearlean enjoyed cooking, fishing and spending time with family and friends. She was a lover of people.

Preceding her in death were her parents; sister, Florence Simon; brothers, the Rev. Albert Ervin Jr., Joseph Ervin and Albert James Ervin; two aunts, Blanche Moore and Ann Louise Donald; one uncle, John Frank Donald; granddaughter, Salia Shanice Webb.

Left to cherish her memories are two daughters, Debra Johnson of Walker Springs and Paula Campbell of Jackson; three sisters, Lula Mae (James) Jackson of Leroy, Marilyn (Timothy) Williams of McIntosh and Lola Jean Ervin of Mobile; four brothers, Willie Ervin Sr. of McIntosh, Sampson (Elder Carrie) Ervin Sr., Frank Ervin and Louis Ervin, all of Leroy; one aunt, Sarah Gulley of Leroy; two grandchildren; devoted niece, Barbara Ann Jones of Leroy; nephew, Christopher Ervin; great-great-nephew, Cameron Freeman; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
