Pearl “Sue” Devers, 91
FULLERTON, CA – Pearl “Sue” Devers, Fullerton, CA, passed way peacefully in her sleep on April 21, 2017.
She was born Nov. 3, 1925 in Glady, West Virginia, the daughter of the late Abel Long and Jesse Phares. Sue’s early years were split between West Virginia and Maryland while later in life she lived in Indiana and California.
While living in Muncie (1970-2000), she worked as a Nurses Aid before making her return to California. Sue enjoyed traveling and among her favorite destinations were Las Vegas and Laughlin, Nevada, various National Parks, and her beloved Muncie, Indiana. She also enjoyed taking drives along the coast, babysitting, pet sitting, and going out for meals with her daughters, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and their families.
Survivors include her son, Jerry Wyatt; three daughters, Linda Sue Long-Coyne, Midway City, California; Sheila Wyatt, (husband-Mel Smith), Yakima, Washington; and Cindy (Devers) Ninokawa, (husband-Cary), Fullerton, California; she also leaves behind many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and devoted friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joseph Ransom Devers; step-son, Carl Devers, (Nell), Muncie, Indiana; step-daughter, Doris Chambers, (Richard), Anderson, Indiana; sister, Bernice Badura, California; and a grandson, Steven Coyne, California.
