Pearl Irean Neve

June 21, 1916 ~ September 13, 2012

Pearl was born in Newburg, Oregon to Roy and Mertie Cook.   The fourth of 6 children.  Pearl grew up in Newburg until she was 21 when she moved to California, where she met and married her first husband Harold E. Brown.  After her marriage her and Harold moved to Portland, Oregon where she raised her family.  During WWII she worked as one of many “Rosie the Riveters” building ships at the Portland Ship yard.  Most of her life she worked as a waitress and cook at several different restaurants in and around Portland until her first husband passed on.  Pearl remarried Wilbur Neve and lived between Washington and Oregon until Will passed.  After Will passed Pearl lived between her two daughters in Ohio and Florida until her eldest daughter passed in 2004, when she moved to live with her youngest girl.  Around 1996 she became affectionately called Granny Girl by all the grandchildren and the name stayed with her throughout her stay here in Florida.  She was also preceded in death by all her brothers and sisters, a daughter, Barbara Rainsbuger in 2004 and a son Wayne Brown in 1971.  She is survived by her daughter Gloria and husband Robert Donaldson, daughter in law, Leatha Brown, and son in law, Richard Rainsbuger.  Grandchildren, Bobby and Tammy Donaldson, Danny and Kimberly Donaldson of FWB and Kathy Lewis of Dover, Ohio.  Her great grandchildren include Timmy, Stefanie, Levi and Jessica Donaldson all of FWB.  One great grandchild, Brantley also of FWB.  Andrea and Justin Lewis of Dover, Ohio.  She is also survived by 3 other grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 10 great great grandchildren.

Pearl enjoyed needle cross-stitching, needle point, quilting and crocheting.  She loved watching her great grandchildren in their many sporting activities both in person and on video.

Along with her loving family, Pearl loved and was loved by many family and friends, if you knew Pearl you loved her and knew the wonderful personality she had.  She loved to laugh and had a great since of humor and enjoyed teasing the good looking men in her life.  She believed in hard work and fair play and devoted her life to caring for and loving her family.

The entire Donaldson family wants to thank the staff of hospice for helping Pearl tom make the transition from life to life with God.  Our special thanks goes out to Annie and Tracy whom she loved dearly.
