Pearl A. (Wunchel) Brunell, 100, died peacefully in Blackstone Valley Health and Rehabilitation in Whitinsville on November 22, 2021, after a period of declining health.
     Her first husband, Gilbert F. Cofske, died in 1944.  Her second husband, Walter A. Brunell, died in 1990.
     She leaves two daughters:  Gloria J. (Cofske) Gallacher of Whitinsville and Carol A. (Cofske) Grenier of Auburn;  20 grandchildren;  40 great grandchldren;  and several nieces and nephews and their families.  In addition to her spouses, she was also predeceased by a son, Joseph K. Cofske of Linneus, ME;  her parents, Carl and Mary L. (Pelletier) Wunchel of Northbridge;  three brothers:  Karl Wunchel of Hudson,  Richard Wunchel of Sutton,  and Chester Wunchel of Millbury;  and a half-sister, Eunice D. “Dot” Flinton of East Douglas.
     Mrs. Brunell was born in Northbridge on April 15, 1921, and later lived 40 years in Sutton and 12 years in Millbury before moving to Whitinsville in April of this year.  She was educated in Northbridge schools.
     Mrs. Brunell worked for over 50 years as a stitcher in the Lincoln Lounge Co. in Auburn and in several other area upholstery firms before she retired in 2009.  
     Over the years, to relax, she enjoyed sewing, bowling and playing cards, especially poker.
