Pauline Ryan 87 of Centralia, passed away Tuesday, May 29, 2012, at Centralia Manor in Centralia. Mrs. Ryan was born May 30, 1924, in Pearl, Mississippi, the daughter of Jeff D. Parker and Ethel (Russum) Parker.

She married John “Jack” Ryan on October 12, 1947, and he preceded her in death on January 22, 1997. She is survived by two sons: John R. Ryan, Jr. of Centralia and J. Patrick of Dayton Beach, FL; three grandchildren: Annie Payne and husband Eric of Oak Harbor, WA, Katie Ryan and Sean Ryan and wife Rhonda all of Centralia; five great-grandchildren: Abigail Payne, Emelyn Payne both of Oak Harbor, WA, Erika Ryan, Kayla Ryan, and Nicole Ryan all of Centralia; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and two brothers: Summers Daniel Parker and W.H. “Red” Parker; two sisters: Merle Anderson and Louise Melby.

Pauline attended high school in Lisbon Louisiana, where she and her sister Louise played on a state championship girls basketball team. She then moved to Centralia, where she graduated from Centralia High School in 1942. Upon graduation, she began her career in records and bookkeeping for the United States Government at Oak Ridge, Tennessee. Following W.W.II, she returned to Centralia, where she was the office manager for Parker Bros. Inc, Copple Contracting, and Central States Environmental Services, from which she retired. Pauline was an active member of the Centralia Junior Women’s Club, where she made many lasting friendships. After retirement, Pauline moved to Paris, Tennessee, and then later to Whidbey Island, Washington. Pauline was a lifelong sports fan, and seldom missed a televised Kentucky Wildcat basketball game. She especially enjoyed time with her family and was able to spend many days with her great-grandchildren.
