Pauline Penny L. Hanlon, age 76, of Plymouth, died Sunday, September 23, 2018 at the Beth Israel-Deaconess Hospital in Plymouth, following a lengthy illness. She was the daughter of the late William and Maria (Beristaine) Hanlon. Born in Boston on September 2, 1942, she was the owner and founder of the Center for Leisure Activities and the Web of Life Outdoor Education Center, Camp Kaleidoscope for Kids, and the Appalachian Mountain Club. She also helped start the whale watches out of Plymouth harbor. She worked with individuals with developmental disabilities for over fifty years. Penny was educated at Somerville High School, Mt. Ida College and the Rocky Mountain College. Her greatest joy was being a grandmother, rescuing animals and worldwide travel. She is survived by her daughter Mia Hanlon Steiger and her husband Benjamin of Plymouth, her grandson Nathan Steiger, her brother William Hanlon and his wife Sarah of Port Richie, FL, and her sisters Danielle Wind and her late husband Frank of Kensington, CT, and Susan Gorman of Lynn. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews including Clifton Wind of Glastonbury, CT. She was the daughter of her late Father Clifton Campbell, formerly of Manomet.
