Pauline Lilly Jenkins, 84, of Boise, Idaho passed away Thursday, October 2, 2014 after a brief battle with influenza A and B and pneumonia. Pauline was born February 7, 1930, the 3rd of four daughters to A. Stanley Brown and Lilly Anna Sorena Bodell Hansen in Lewiston, Utah.  As a young child, Pauline moved with her family to Twin Falls, Idaho and lived there until she was married.

Pauline was a vibrant soul who will always be remembered for her passion for music. As a child, Pauline loved to go to work with her father who was a mechanic at the sugar factory in Twin Falls. Her favorite part was singing with her father in the car all the way there and all the way home, never repeating a song.  Pauline graduated from Twin Falls High School where she excelled in music. Pauline met her husband, Duane Jenkins, on a blind date while he was a student at Idaho State College. They were married in the Idaho Falls temple on August 1, 1949. They made their home in Pocatello until Duane graduated. Pauline spent nearly all of her life in Idaho, living in Twin Falls, Pocatello, Idaho Falls, and Boise.

Pauline and Duane have two children: Barry Alvin Jenkins and Pamela Anne Acuff. They have eleven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. Pauline opened her arms to all of her children’s friends and many other people. She treated them as if they were her own children and grandchildren. A special few still call her “Mom” or “Grandma”.

Pauline had many talents, a few which include floral arranging, drawing, sewing and singing.  She was involved in the early days of Boise’s art community performing in several musicals. Pauline sewed dresses for and performed with the Boise Choristers for over twenty years.  She loved to draw women’s fashions.  Sewing was more than just a hobby for Pauline. She sewed many costumes, prom dresses, doll clothes, fleece blankets, and other items both professionally and for her family. Pauline always enjoyed boating, fishing, hunting, and camping with her family, especially in McCall. One of the talents most enjoyed by her family and friends was her baking, especially when they got to eat her rolls and candy cane cookies.

Pauline enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and gardening.

One of her husband’s fondest memories was when Pauline would stay up late after he had gone to bed and she would play the piano. Duane loved to lie in bed before going to sleep and listen as Pauline played.

Pauline is survived by her husband, V. Duane Jenkins, sisters, Laura Brown (Doug), Mildred Priess and Geraldine Traher (Norm), children, Barry Jenkins (Deb) and Pam Acuff (Ken), eleven grandchildren, and eleven great grandchildren. Pauline is preceded in death by her parents, a brother-in-law ( Larry Priess),and two great-grandchildren.
