Pauline L. Reavy Barnett, 72, of Roodhouse, IL died Friday, May 13, 2016, at White Hall Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in White Hall, IL.

She was born April 22, 1944 in Jacksonville, IL, the daughter of Robert and Josephine Blesse Reavy. She graduated from Routt Catholic High School in 1962. While there she was crowned the 1961 Homecoming Queen. She briefly attended Illinois College in Jacksonville.

On December 27, 1965, she married John W. Barnett at the Church of Our Saviour in Jacksonville. Following their wedding, they moved to Mineral Wells, TX, where John was stationed prior to his tour of duty in Vietnam. In 1968, she and John purchased the Barnett Farm, east of Roodhouse, and began farming and living on the original family farm owned by his ancestors.

While John was in Vietnam, Pauline resided in Roodhouse with his parents and began work at the Roodhouse National Bank as a teller. She worked at the bank in various positions until 1988, when she began work at White House Manufacturing in White Hall. She remained there for 22 years, retiring in May of 2010.

Pauline was most recently involved in helping with events associated with the Roodhouse 150th Sesquicentennial Celebration. She was also actively involved in her grandson Lance’s sports activities, especially in driving him to basketball camps and attending his many basketball and baseball games.

Pauline is survived by her daughter, Jean Barnett Weitekamp (husband, Jeff) and grandson, Lance Barnett Weitekamp, all of Morrisonville; two sisters, Jeannette Gourley (husband, Gene) of Danville and Mary Sullivan of Jacksonville; a brother George Reavy (wife, Connie) of LeRoy; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and four brothers, Robert, Mike, Francis and Frank Reavy; and a sister, Josephine “Dee Dee” Reavy.
