Pauline Roach Hecht, died December 10, 2010 at Rawlins House, Pendleton.

She was born April 13 in Madison County to Fred and Effie Roach. She grew up on a farm, the youngest of five children, and graduated from Anderson High School. She worked for Dr. Nesbit, an Anderson ENT, until he went into the service for World War II. She then worked for the Rationing Board and Guide Lamp until returning to work for Dr. Nesbit when he returned from service.

On August 22, 1943, she married William J. Hecht at Central Christian Church. She was a member of Central Christian Church, the Garden Club, Friends of the Library, Culture Club, and numerous other bridge clubs. She worked on the U.S. Census twice. She and Bill lived in Edgewood for 47 years until they moved to Fall Creek Village in Pendleton. She loved her family, sewing, cooking and entertaining. She is survived by her daughter, Lynn Bradley of Atlanta, Georgia; and her son and daughter-in-law, Greg and Rhonda Hecht of Anderson; grandchildren, Adam and Maria Hecht of Bargersville; John Carter Badley of Carrollton, Georgia, Willaim Bradley of Missoula, Montana, and Katherine Bradley of Atlanta, Georgia. A great-granddaughter, Alyssa Dobbs, also survives her. Also surviving her are sister-in-law, Elizabeth Roach; nephews and nieces, Phil and Linda Roach, Max and Connie Roach, Marilyn Gosnell, Sally Fuller, Steve Roach, Marty Roach, Mary Jane Roach, Jack and Barbara Roach, Ted and Linda Roach, and Marjorie and Norm Hathcoat. Three special longtime friends also survive her: Betty Jean Clem, Erma Hetzler and Ferneva Perkins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, John Roach of Elwood, Charles and Helene Roach of Frankton, Gerald and Maxine Roach of Middletown and sister, Violet and Merlin Fuller of Alexandria; and nephews, Rex Roach, David Roach and Richard Fuller; and granddaughter, Sara Elizabeth Hecht of Anderson.
