Pauline Merritt, age 91 of Douglas passed away at her daughter’s residence on Wednesday, August 12, 2020. Mrs. Merritt was born on January 9, 1929, in Coffee County, Georgia, to the late William Franklin (Bill) Bray and Elevener (Toby) Lee Bray. Mrs. Merritt was preceded in death by her husband, E. J. Merritt.
In 2005 when her great grandchild, Kate, was born, Mrs. Merritt was given the nickname of “Little Granny” which matched her petite size perfectly.
Mrs. Merritt is survived by her daughter Jan Shrouder and husband Billy Joe Shrouder; one granddaughter Kelly Shrouder Waldron and husband Banner Waldron; and one great granddaughter Kate Jolie Waldron, all of Douglas, Georgia; one sister Joyce (Larry) Harper of Ambrose, GA; one brother Billy Bray (Jean Carol) from Blackshear, GA; as well as several nephews, nieces, cousins, and many friends.
