Paula Valerie (Bligh) Bertrand, 67, of Cromwell, beloved wife of Hector Bertrand, Jr., passed away at home on September 3, 2015. Born in Hartford, she was the daughter of Margaret (Sawicki) Bligh of Southington and the late James Bligh. Paula grew up in Torrington and lived in Cromwell for the past twenty seven years. She was a graduate of Summerville Hospital School of Nursing, received her Bachelor’s Degree from Central CT State University and a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing Degree from Southern CT State University. Paula worked as a chemical abuse nurse clinician. She was a member of the National Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselors, and CT Certified Substance Abuse Counselors. Paula enjoyed arts and crafts especially crocheting. She had a big heart, was very generous and loved animals.
