Paula T. Cappiello, age 81, of Danbury, Connecticut, loving wife of Frank J. Cappiello Sr. and affectionate mother of three, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 19, 2022.

Paula was born in Danbury on December 20, 1940, a daughter of the late Kamil and Laurice (Habib) Saffi. A lifelong Danbury resident, she attended Danbury schools and graduated from Danbury High School with the Class of 1958 followed by a completed course of study at the former Crandall’s Business School of Danbury.

A medical administrative assistant, Paula was first employed at the former Fairfield Hills State Hospital. In 1986, she joined the medical practice of Dr. Oscar Lascano of New Fairfield serving as their Front Office Manager until 2004.

She was an active member of her community of faith, St.

The consummate social butterfly, Paula loved entertaining friends and family in their tastefully decorated home. Her sense of style and fashion were unmistakable, always in lockstep with the latest trends.

As a person who radiated beauty from both the inside and out, Paula will truly be missed by all those whose lives she touched.

Paula met the love of her life, Frank, while they were in high school in 1957. They married on June 30, 1962, and recently celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary.

In addition to her husband Frank, Paula is survived by her daughter, Pamela J. Sweeney of Danbury, two sons, Frank J. Cappiello Jr. and his wife Suzanne of New Milford, and David J. Cappiello and his wife Christine of Newtown, two brothers Robert Saffi and his wife Maureen of Waterbury, VT and Joseph Saffi and his wife Christy of Brookfield, sister Ruthann (Saffi) Ashkar and her husband John of Danbury, seven grandchildren, Jessica, Joseph, Andrew, Alexandra, Jonathan, Jack, and Jude, great-granddaughter Stella Grace and an extended family of sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.
