Paula Jean Hansen, daughter of the late James O. “Jack” Lightsey and Pauline (Davis) Lightsey, was born September 3, 1930 at Jackson, Mississippi.  She passed away July 10, 2018 at Mercy Hospital of Ardmore, at the age of 87 years, 10 months and 7 days.

Paula Jean grew up in Jackson and graduated from Central High School there in the class of 1948.  She and Thomas E. Hansen were married June 19, 1949 at Jackson, and were the parents of four sons, Dan, Mark, Chris and Tracy. 

She and her husband lived in New Orleans, Louisiana, before moving to Ardmore in 1975.  A Director at Kinderland Daycare, Paula Jean was devoted to her church, the Seventh-Day Adventist Church of Ardmore and for many years she was a tireless and selfless volunteer at the Ardmore Adventist Hospital.  In her leisure time she enjoyed ceramics, but the time she cherished most, was that spent with her family, she loved them all dearly.

Paula Jean Hansen was a person of faith and lived life serving others.  She is survived by her four sons, Dan Hansen and wife, Julia, Mark Hansen and wife, Vicki, Chris Hansen and wife, Terri, Tracy Hansen and wife, Cheryl; also nine grandchildren, Kelli, Justin, Jason, Jill, Whitney, Madison, Stephanie, Trey and Colton, nine great-grandchildren and her sister,  Nancy Barclay and husband, Hugh.

In addition to her parents, Paula Jean was preceded in death by her beloved husband of fifty years, Thomas E. Hansen, March, 3, 1999.
