Paul Wright, age 78 of Humboldt, passed away Saturday, August 5, 2017 at the Humboldt County Memorial Hospital. Paul Raemond Wright, son of Harland and Muriel (Olsen) Wright, was born on January 25, 1939 in Humboldt, Iowa. Paul graduated from Bradgate High School in 1957. Paul attended Auctioneer School in Mason City in 1958. He then enlisted in the National Guard. On October 12, 1958, Paul was united in marriage to Sandra Tubbs in Rutland, Iowa. He was employed by the fertilizer plant, owned and operated Wright Blue Lite Tavern in Rutland and Gilmore City and was employed by Chantlands for 25 years. He enjoyed cooking, was known as the onion king of gardening. He also enjoyed hunting and polka dancing in his prior years. He introduced the buffalo chicken wings to Humboldt many years ago. Paul is survived by his wife of 58 years, Sandy of Humboldt; his children Shelly (Rex) Hartwig of Rockwell City, Trent (Wendy) Wright of Sioux City, Renae (Jeff) Dreyer of Humboldt and Neal Wright of Humboldt; six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and two brothers, Farrell Wright of Dixon, Illinois and Harlow Wright of Jefferson, Wisconsin. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harland and Muriel Wright; sister, Diania Goodway and granddaughter, Brooke Dreyer.
