On June 16, 2018, Paul Wildman, 96, died suddenly in his home in Linthicum. He was born in Baltimore on September 9, 1921. He was the beloved husband of the late Laura L. Wildman. He is survived by his daughter and friend, Ellen L. Wildman and many nieces and nephews.
He was raised in Baltimore and had to leave school to go to work during the Depression. He served as a Medical Aid man with the Medical Detachment of the 105th Engineer Combat Battalion in Europe in WWII. He attended the Maryland Institute College of Art on the GI Bill, where he met his wife, and graduated in 1949. He was an artist, restorer of antiques and old houses and antiques dealer. He was an early stay-at-home Dad while his wife pursued a career in psychiatric nursing and family therapy. He was a skilled craftsman and the family cook and gardener. He played the piano and sang to his family. He loved being outdoors, especially at the beach. He was an intelligent, well-read, self-taught, unconventional and hardworking man of excellent character. He was gentle, compassionate, loving and devoted to his family.
