Paul Mason, age 90, of Peralta, New Mexico went to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 25, 2023. Paul was born to Wilmer and Pearl Mason on Saturday, February 4th, 1933 in Hazel Park, Michigan. At 10 years old Paul accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal Savior. He married the love of his life Eunice Rawlings on Saturday, July 16, 1955. Paul was the dear father of Janis (Paul) Venema, Beverly (Robert) Vallance, Marilyn (John) Joyce, Douglas (Kyla) Mason, and Mark (Michaele) Mason. He was also the grandfather of 13 grandchildren (1 deceased) and 7 great-grandchildren. Paul is survived by his wife Eunice Mason; his children; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. Paul is preceded in death by his siblings, Harold and Ruth Mason, Lavonne and Don LeCureux, and Kenneth and Violet Mason. In life Paul had many entrepreneurial interests, and pursued several business ventures. These included but are not limited too, starting a local newspaper called The Shopper, which is still in circulation today and running two pizza businesses while living in Battle Creek, Michigan. He was also an avid supporter of sports at his children’s high school, and produced the programs for the school’s sporting events. Paul also served his county during the Korean War as medical assistant in the US Army. Anyone who knew Paul knew he loved gardening. He was interested in plants from a young age and started selling produce at farmer’s markets as a teenager. After moving to New Mexico in 2002 for retirement, gardening was Paul’s main hobby and interest. Together with Eunice he was active in several local farmer’s markets. Paul was a faithful member of the Albuquerque Gospel Hall in Albuquerque, New Mexico where he loved to spread the gospel, ” Christ died for our sins according to the scripture; He was buried and He rose again the third day according to the scriptures .” 1 Corinthians 15:3.
