Paul Stewart was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma and was a child of the depression era. His parents moved him and his two sisters to Baltimore when he was very young where he grew up to adulthood.
It was obvious from the start that this man was instilled with the gifts of ambition and tenacity. It was extremely important to him that while studying his coursework and participating in sports, that he also gain employment to “bring in some dough” as he put it. That drive would remain with him for the rest of his life and form the very successful husband, father and business man that he became.
Paul began his work in the HVAC business in 1946. He raised his eight children in Jacksonville and began his career there with Baker Brothers, Inc. He worked his way up the ranks and subsequently served as President with the company for 21 of those years from 1962 until 1983 upon his retirement.
He is survived by his wife, Rose, who he married in Honolulu, Hawaii in 1945, and their 8 children; Jon Stewart, Paul Stewart Jr., Bonnie (Bird) Stewart, Rosemary (Foreman) Stewart, Lawrence Stewart, Thomas Stewart, James Stewart and Clare (Dennis) Stewart. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
