Paul was born to John N and Ruth E Townsend in Montrose Colorado. Then moved to Peach Valley in Delta, Co where he was adopted by his stepfather David E. Smith in 1982, and eventually moved to Hotchkiss, where he graduated from Hotchkiss High School. This is where he met and fell in love with Daryln Coleman, whom he married in November of 1987. They moved to California where Paul persued a career in Computer Programming, and they had their daughter Chelsea Dene. Sadly Daryln passed away six weeks later.
Paul moved back to Colorado and worked various sales positions including Radio Shack but eventually settled at Wal-Mart where he remained employed until health issues forced his retirement after 15 years.
Paul was proceeded in Death by his wife Daryln Smith, his birth father John N. Townsend, his father and Mother-in-law Daryl and Anita Coleman, his brother John M Townsend, and two sisters Amy Townsend and Joyce Shanahan.
Paul is survived by many including his daughter Chelsea (Midrael) McCormick and grandson Mason and granddaughter Makayla, all of Hotchkiss.
Also his parents Ruth and David Smith of Hotchkiss. Brothers: Charles Townsend of Grand Junction, David V (Katie) Smith of Hotchkiss, Steven V Smith of Hotchkiss, (Heather Clark)
Sisters: Laurie Townsend- Brewer and Kate (Tim) McDaniel both of Hotchkiss and Robin (Mike Shanahan) Miller of Denver. Favorite niece Jessi Baker of Hotchkiss and numerous nephews & Nieces.
Paul Smith will be Missed.
