Paul L. Shaffer, 78, of Grafton, formerly of Thornton, passed away Wednesday, June 8, 2011, at Grafton City Hospital. He was born in Taylor County on June 8, 1933, son of the late George and Eva Tenney Shaffer. Paul is survived by two nieces, Alice Stewart and husband Kenny, and their children, Amanda and Dustin all of Grafton, Karen Myers, Thornton; three nephews, James Poling, Fellowsville, Donald Poling, Thornton, and Charles Poling, Doddridge County; cousin Sada Gould, Buckhannon, and several addition cousins. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Verna Poling. He was member of the Fellowship Mission Church and he loved the Lord with all of his heart. Paul graduated from Grafton High School and was a huge sports fan and loved football. He retired as a brick worker for the Thornton Brick Yard.
