Paul Shaffer, 80, Anderson, died October 22, 2002 at Countryside Manor, Anderson after an extended illness. He was born July 18, 1922 in Anderson, Indiana, and was a lifetime Anderson resident. He retired from Delco Remy Division of General Motors after 30 years of employment. He served two tours of duty in the US Army during WWII.
He was a member and former president of the Hoosier Beagle Club, the American Legion of Chesterfield, the UAW Local #662, the VFW Post #266 and the 40 & 8.
He is survived by his a granddaughter, Lori A. Lloyd & husband Bob Dominguez of Angola; a son, P.J. Shaffer of Florida; two great grandchildren, Amber Dawn Bevars and Jacob Aaron Chesley; a sister, Mary Ann Stephenson of Anderson, a family friend Carolyn Chamberland of Anderson and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded by his preceded in death by his wife Thelma Ashby Shaffer on March 11, 2000, his parents Arthur & Christine ”Tina” Schrieber Shaffer, a daughter Phyllis Joan Hollingsworth in 1985, a step-son William Douglas Ansberry in 1989 and several brothers and sisters.
