Paul Pellegrino, 87, formerly of 304 Nicoll St., New Haven passed away Nov. 23, 2013 in The Grimes Center. Born in New Haven on Jan. 22, 1926, he was the son of the late John and Julia Parisi Pellegrino. Prior to his retirement, he worked at Marlin Firearms and for Sargent & Co. He loved music, movies and the theater. He was a loving caregiver to his mother who lived to be 100 years of age and a devoted brother to his sister, Fannie with whom he shared the same home for over 84 years. He is survived by his sister, Fannie Gritzbach of New Haven; three nephews, John & George Gritzbach and Louis Pellegrino Jr.; two nieces. Rosalie Amato & Paula McCrory; and several great nieces & was predeceased by his brother, Louis Pellegrino and his brother in law, George Gritzbach. The family would like to thank the staff at GrimesCenter who lovingly cared for Uncle Paul over the past two years and to Maryann Trocchio and her staff from SolAmor Hospice for making him very comfortable this past week.
