Paul Norman May, 90, passed away at his residence on Tuesday, March 2, 2021.  He was born December 28, 1930 in New Brighton, Pennsylvania and raised in McDonald, Ohio.

He entered the United States Coast Guard in June 1948, and served in Jersey City, New Jersey, being Honorably discharged in September, 1952.

During that time he met Jean Marion Merritt and on June 28, 1952, they were married and began their life together.  In 1957, they settled in Hazlet, New Jersey, where they raised their family. Paul enjoyed camping, boating, fishing, hunting, softball and bike riding. Paul also was a season ticket holder to the Cleveland Browns, traveling almost every weekend to attend games with his son, grandchild and nephew.

Paul began his career in auto sales working in the parts department of Studebaker in Montclair, New Jersey and worked his way up to Sales Manager at Todd Motors of Staten Island. He eventually retired from Dana Lincoln-Mercury of Staten Island in 2003.

He was predeceased by his wife Jean, his parents Raymond and Helen, brothers Jack, Raymond (Jr.), Vernon and Richard (Dale) and granddaughter Nicole.

Paul is survived by his children, Donna Thorn and her husband Douglas, William and his wife Missy, Kenneth and his wife Laura. Seven grandchildren, Jennifer, Paul, Jessica, Benjamin, Patricia, Douglas and Donald.  Four Great Grandchildren, Alvin, August, Merritt and Alice. And many loving nieces and nephews.
