Paul Maurice Moss, 75, died Thursday, September 8, 2022, at his home in Oxford, MS..M….M. to 1:30 P.M..

Paul was born December 2, 1946, to the late William and Lola Moss. He was a decorated veteran of the U.S. Army, serving his country during the Vietnam War, and received the Medal of Heroism. An avid outdoorsman, he loved time spent deer hunting, fishing, or just being out in nature. Paul turned his passion for the outdoors into a lifetime career as a farm manager of both his own and other farms in Oxford. Those who hired him to look after their land and livestock knew that he would treat their property as if it were his own. He was a member and former deacon of College Hill Presbyterian Church. He lovingly cared for the grounds of the church, and during the recent fire, directed the firefighters where to go in to save the Bible. A proud member of the College Hill community, he was the embodiment of a good neighbor, always quietly helping others and serving the community. Paul was on the Lafayette County Sheriff Department Search and Rescue Team and former Chief of the Lafayette County Volunteer Fire Department. After his tenure as chief, he remained an integral part of the department, staying very involved and lending aid in whatever way he could.

Paul is survived by his daughters, Rebecca J. Edgar of Water Valley, MS and Katie Wallace and her husband, Bryan Lovelace of Oxford, MS; sons, William “Bill” Moss and his wife, Kim of Bartlett, TN and Paul Zachary Moss and his wife, Jaclyn of Memphis, TN; his sister, Faye Frykholm of Germantown, TN; and 13 beloved grandchildren..
