On Saturday, April 4, 2015, Paul Ihnat, 96, passed away at the Jerome Home in New Britain. Born in New Britain on December 17, 1918, he was the son of the late George & Irene Ihnat, and was a lifelong resident. He was a veteran of WWII, serving in US Air Corps where he received an American Theater Campaign Ribbon. He served our city with the New Britain Police Department for 25 years, retiring in 1971, and had then worked as a security guard at New Britain General Hospital. He is survived by his nieces and a nephew. The Ihnat family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff of professionals at the Jerome Home for the care and kindness they extended to Paul during his stay.
