Paul I. Groner, 80, of Porterfield Road, Emlenton, Richland Twp., Venango County, died early Saturday morning at the residence of his son Michael following a brief illness. Mr. Groner was born on September 28, 1929 in Duke Center. He was the son of Andrew H. and Christina Beichner Groner. He was a graduate of Shippenville High School. Mr. Groner was a long time faithful member of St. Michael Roman Catholic Church in Emlenton and belonged to the Knights of Columbus. He was also a member of the Richland Grange, and attended the St. Petersburg Senior Center. Mr. Groner was a life long farmer. For more than 60 years he hauled livestock and various farm products including fertilizer, barn equipment, and hay. He also spread lime and sold steel roofing. He enjoyed the company of his many friends and customers. Mr. Groner was married on September 26, 1956 at St. Michael Church in Fryburg to the former Beulah Moore, who survives. Also surviving are four sons, David A. Groner of Emlenton; Daniel J. Groner and his wife Carol of Huntsville, Alabama; Mark E. Groner, who lives on the family homestead in Fryburg; and Michael J. Groner of Emlenton; three daughters, Doris J. Hamel and her husband Conrad R. of North Kingstown, Rhode Island; Paula J. Groner of Emlenton; and Mary A. Wagner and her husband Rick of Tionesta; eleven grandchildren, John P. Groner and his wife Rachel of Ft. Walton Beach, Florida; Amy B. Nolan and her husband Jeff of Dublin, Ohio; Adam L. Groner and Mason A. Groner, both of Fryburg; Brandon P. Groner of Austin, Texas; Katherine L. Martinelli of Emlenton; Kristina E. Wagner, Glory E. Wagner, Penny E. Wagner, Leah E. Wagner,and Becca E. Wagner, all of Tionesta. A great granddaughter, Erin A. Groner of Ft. Walton Beach, Florida; a brother -in- law, Joseph Moore and his wife Ruth of Tionesta; a sister- in- a law, Mae Lou Daughtry, Leoma, Tennessee, as well as a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to his parents, Mr. Groner was preceded in death by a sister, and a brother- in- law, Loraine and Dennis Reisinger.
