Mr. Paul “Jack” Hargrove, Jr., son of the late Paul Hargrove, Sr. and the late Stella B. Garner, was born June 11, 1956 in Sampson County. He departed this life on June 30, 2019 at SECU- Jim and Betsy Bryan Hospice of UNC in Pittsboro, NC.
“Jack” as he was affectionately called attended Sampson County Public School Systems.
He worked many years doing farm work and was last employed with Allen Canning until his health declined.
If you ever attended any of the family gatherings you knew “jack” had to be the life of the party. He was also Known for his famous pig feet and lima beans. “Jack” was a passionate New England Patriots and Duke Blue Devils fan.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his step-father Romie “Billy” Garner; three brothers, Jimmy Hargrove, Walter Hargrove and James Hargrove; one sister, Linda H. Herring.
Home going service will be held on at 1:00 pm on Saturday, July 6, 2019 at Hope Valley Hawkins Funeral Chapel, 1246 Hobbton Hwy. with Pastor Jean Bronson officiating, burial will be held privately at the family’s request.
He leaves to cherish his memories: two sisters; Mattie Freeman (Edward) and Stella Swinson of Clinton, NC; five nieces: Temisha, Stella, Kendra (whom he affectionately called “Kiona”), Samantha and Brianna; four nephews; Antron, Ricky, Malcolm and Robert and a host of other relatives and friends.
