WASHINGTON-Paul E. Habel, 85, of Washington passed away at 3:35am Sunday, October 9, 2016 at Unity Point Health-Methodist.
He was born on January 9, 1931 in Quincy, IL the son of John and Margaret Vogt Habel. He married Ruby Arrowood on December 29, 1956 in Ashville, NC.
Surviving are his wife, their two children Scott Habel of Chicago and Paula (Brent) Ringland of Washington. Also surviving is one granddaughter Madison Ringland of Washington, two sisters Alvera Roberts of St. Joseph, MO and Frieda Sibert of Sun City, AZ. He was preceded in death by three brothers, and one sister.
He was honorably discharged from the U.S. Airforce and the Air National Guard after 42 years of proudly serving his country. He taught math, science and industrial education in Peoria and Washington. He later worked as a millwright in Bettendorf, IA for many years retiring in 2008.
