Paul Elliott Guy, 92, of Newton died on Saturday, April 9, 2022, at Park Centre.
Paul, the son of Paul F. and Gladys V. (Elliott) Guy, was born on February 11, 1930, at Skiff Hospital, the same week his parents moved to the now “family farm” northwest of Newton. The farm was “Home Base” for Paul, as he graduated from Newton High School in 1948, except for when he attended Iowa State and the two years he was in the Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict.
On November 21, 1959, Paul married the former Jane Rowe in Waterloo, whom he met through a relative in February of that year. Both were only children and became parents of three sons and a daughter. Paul was a lifelong farmer.
Paul is survived by his children, Michael P. (Rhonda) Guy of Newton, Mark P. (Linda) Guy of Iowa Falls, Eric P. (Naomi Sea-Young Wittstruck) Guy of Des Moines, and Gretchen J. Guy of Newton; grandchildren, Matthew (Summer) Guy, Alan (Sarah) Guy, Jaya Guy, Maya (Michael) Van Voorst, Jana Guy, Luke Guy, Jordan Liekweg, Leah (Madi) Guy, Tad (Ryan Koning) Guy, and Jonah Guy; and his great-grandchildren, Taylor, Tanner, Tyler, Grace, Rebecca, Elizabeth, and Caleb. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Jane Guy.
