Paul (Pete) Douglas Seward, age 84, the rock of our family, passed away November 15, 2016. Pete was born in Dennison, TX in 1932 and spent his first few years on a homestead east of Estancia, NM. When he was around six years old, the family moved to Albuquerque. Pete graduated from Albuquerque High School, studied at UNM and was a member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity. Pete entered the United States Navy in 1952 and served during the Korean War through 1954. Pete was known for his 40 years of dedicated service at Sandia National Laboratories and lifelong friendships all over the world. He traveled the earth while at Sandia Laboratories and worked in places like Hawaii, Australia, Rarotonga, Samoa and Brazil. He was a proud participant of the early years of the nuclear age. Pete was also a very avid reader. He loved his years as a private pilot and member of the Civil Air Patrol, New Mexico Masons, a golfer and enjoyed entertaining family and friends.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Barbara; his children, Pamela Wilson and son Rob, Paul Seward Jr. and children, Rita, Sally, Patty, Simone and Will, Judy Bott and children Ida and Kevin. He is also survived by his brother, Joe Seward; and sister, Carol Franklin. He also leaves nieces, nephews and cousins.
