Paul David Cottrell, November 22, 1937- May 31, 2016 Passed away on May 31, 2016, he was a member of the Air Force Reserves and served from June 2, 1954 to May 31, 1960. He was an Ordained Minister of the Assemblies of God. His pastoral career started in 1961 in Jasper Alabama and he retired from active pastoral duties in 2004. Between the period of 1961 and 2004 Paul pastored 14 churches of which he pioneered 4, these churches were geographically located from North Alabama to Central Florida. At the time of his death Paul attended Good News Assembly of God Church in Birmingham AL. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Nancy Cottrell of Birmingham AL, two daughters, Robbie (Randy) Manning, Rebekah (Tim) Jenkins both of Birmingham AL and David Cottrell of Columbus GA. Four Grand Children; Randy Manning of Birmingham AL, Nicholas (Gail) Cottrell of Winter Haven FL; Crystal (Jason) Myers of St. Louis MO and Beverly (Adam) Morse of Birmingham AL. Seven Great Grand Children; Jakob Manning, Harmony Morse and Austin Morse of Birmingham AL; Genevieve Cottrell of Winter Haven FL; Elijah Myers, Emily Myers and Lela Myers of St. Louis MO, and many nieces and nephews. Paul was preceded in death by his parents William Doyce and Beulah Cottrell; his brother William Kenneth Cottrell and his son Timothy Paul Cottrell and daughter-in-law, Sandra Cottrell. Paul was known to his friends and family as a man who loved God and he followed his passion to share the Good News of Jesus Christ. His most effective method of sharing the Good News was based on his one on one conversations with those he came in contact with. His approach was kind and gentle and those he spoke to quickly learned that he cared about them and desired to lead them to a personal relationship with Christ.
