WINSTED – STUMPF – Paul D. Stumpf, passed away unexpectedly on December 9, 2015. Born February 25, 1965 in Winsted CT, the son of Frieda Stumpf Prescott and the late Meredith Stumpf, Paul was a self-employed carpenter in the area and loved the people here. He loved the outdoors, was an avid sports fan, enjoyed playing golf, softball, loved to hike and was a big Saints fan. Paul was also a huge history and Civil War buff, a member of the Elks Club and a previous Elk of the Year. He loved to tell stories and would give anyone the shirt off his back. In addition to his mother, he leaves his brother, Robert Stumpf and wife Mary of Torrington; two sisters, Lori Glover and husband Wayne of Terryville and Mary-Lynn Gonzales of Florida; many nieces and nephews, his significant other, Stephanie Hazard and many, many close friends. He was predeceased by sister, Linda Poniatoski.
