               Paul Cordell Courtney, the son of Frank Courtney, Sr. and Mary   Ruby Patterson Courtney, was born December 23, 1939, in Indianapolis, Indiana. He  received his  education in the Indianapolis Public School System.

Paul was baptized in accordance with the Holy Rites of the Roman Catholic faith at an early age. 

Paul enlisted to serve his country in the United States Army.  He was an SP4 in the Cuban Missile Crisis.  In 2018, he was selected for the Honor Flight in Washington D.C., honoring him as one of America’s great veterans.

Paul wan endowed with many talents.  He was an excellent carpenter and was employed at various jobs, retiring from Target.

Paul’s hobbies included carpentry, thrift store shopping, art, music of all  genres, cooking, fishing, teaching and mentoring.  He was the BEST motivator, and a wonderful chess player.

Paul departed this life on Friday, May 3, 2019, at the age of 79 years, 5 months, and 3 days.  He was proceeded in death by his parents, Frank Courtney, Sr. and Mary Ruby Courtney, and brothers Gerald “Jerry” Courtney and Michael Courtney.

He leaves to cherish his memory his sister Betty Coleman; his brothers, David Courtney, Frank (Sadie) Courtney and Ronald (Carol) Courtney, a host of nieces and nephews, many cousins, other relatives, and friends.
