Mr. Brooks, the son of Augusta Sawyer, peacefully passed at a local medical facility.

The journey of life for Paul Edward Brooks, Jr. began on July 1, 1951 in San Diego, California as the first born child to Paul Edward and Augusta Morris Brooks. He attended Stockton Elementary, Memorial Junior High and graduated from San Diego High School.

During Paul’s travel in life, he owned and operated P. E. B. III Construction Company.

The journey of life for Paul Edward Brooks, Jr. ended on Friday, October 4, 2013 at Castle Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center when our Savior dispatched love, grace and mercy to receive him. It is significant to note that Paul’s younger brother, Harold Venar Brooks, died on October 4, 1997; exactly sixteen years to the day of Paul’s passing.

Paul leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Cynthia Hays Brooks; daughters, Michelle and Jasmine Brooks, and Mercedes Augusta Myers; stepchildren, Reginald and Larissa Carter; mother, Augusta M. Sawyer; father and stepmother, Viola and Paul Edward Brooks, Sr.; grandsons, Jaysean, Jamell and Jarden Bernard; great-granddaughter, Mariah Bernard; sister, Kym Jackson; stepbrothers and stepsister, Diane K. Williams, Keith King, Jarred King and Edwin King; great aunts, Marie Davis, Johnnie Byrd, Barbara Larry, Mary McKee (Paul), Bessie Tate, Vivian Morris and Octavia Ellis (William); special nephew, Harold Venar Brooks, Jr.; devoted, fun-loving cousins, Clara Anderson, Brian Morris, Charlene Morris, Gerald Morris, Thomas Morris, Stanley Morris, Monique Golabek (Manfred), Kenny Toliver, Lanard Morris, Kevin Tate, Laron Tate, Roshaw Tate, Shamone Patterson, Patrice Morris, Dwayne and Poselle Rosette, Khalil Rosette, Kamron Ellis, Kirstie Ellis, Sandra and Gary Brooks; devoted, lifetime friends, Bennie Ruth Smith, Mary Myers and Marian Carter Brooks, along with a host of other relatives and friends, including his beloved dog, “Mimi” who will mourn Paul’s passing, yet celebrate his homegoing.
