Mr. Willis, a member of Mt.

PAUL B. WILLIS, affectionately called “Paul B” or “PB”, was born April 15, 1935 in Junction City, Arkansas to Wade and Flora Mae Willis. Both parents preceded him in death. From this union three more children were born, Howard, Essie Mae and George. Paul received his formal education in the public school system in Junction City. He attended and graduated from Rosenwald School. He played basketball with his brother Howard and developed a love for all sports throughout his entire life. Paul held several positions during his time in Junction City as a mail carrier, supervisor at Pilgrim Pride Chicken Poultry and even drove the school bus during his senior year.

In 1958, Paul relocated to San Diego, California. He attended St.

During the late 1950s, Paul suffered a knee injury and was hospitalized. It was during that time he met a young lady who was working at Sharp Memorial Hospital named Ruth Belle Denny. One day he asked her for her telephone number and she kindly gave him the number to the prayer line. She let him know if he wanted to date her he had to be of the same faith. She was attending Greater Jackson Memorial COGIC. Paul quickly relocated his membership and they began dating. They were married July 14, 1962 and from this union one daughter, Deborah Anne was born.

In 1968 Paul began working for the San Diego Transit. He was a faithful and dedicated employee for thirty-two years and did his best to show other young men the ropes. While Paul had no sons by birth, he became a father and mentor to many. Paul always made time to impart wisdom into a young man’s life. He believed your word is your bond. Follow through on your promises.

In 1965, they followed Pastor Vernon Cooper to St.

Paul had an amazing sense of humor. Although at times, it could be a little dry. He could make you laugh just by a look on his face. He loved his family and his grandchildren were his delight.

On Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at 11:15 A.M., Paul was called home to be with the Lord.
