Winsted: Paul B. Lanko, 80 of Lanson Drive, died Friday, May 9, 2008 at Wolcott Hall Convelescent Home in Torrington, following a lengthy illness. He was the husband of Dorothy (Vickers) Lanko. Born in Torrington, February 19, 1928, he was a son of the late William and Helen (Huska)Lanko and had lived here all of his life. Prior to his retirement, he had been a heavy machine operator and owned and operated Lanson Concrete Products for 40 years. He attended The Gilbert School, was a Navy Veteran of WW II where he served on different submarines and took several courses having to do with his vessel and job description. He was a member of BPOE #372 in Torrington, and the Pattaconk Yacht Club in Chester, CT. In addition to his wife of 54 years, he is survived by his daughter, Linda Baldwin and her husband Bill of Torrington; two sisters, Phyllis Bechtel of CA, Lois Greco of Torrington; two grandsons, William and Robert Baldwin and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Willam Lanko and two sisters, Helen Troughton and Zena Hirchak.
