Paul A. Bleuer, 88 of West Bend died Thursday March 27 at the Palo Alto County Hospital in Emmetsburg.
Paul A. Bleuer, the son of John and Kathryn (Bonnstetter) Bleuer was born October 12, 1919 in West Bend. He was raised and educated in West Bend, graduating from the West Bend High School. He served his country in the United States Armed Forces during WWII from 1941-1945. On July 9, 1946 he was united in marriage with Doryce Mertz in West Bend. The couple lived and farmed in Rodman before moving to West Bend in 1962. Paul was them employed as parts manager for JB Mertz and Son John Deere.
Survivors inlcude his sons John (Kathryn) Bleuer of Warsaw, Illinois; Tom Bleuer of Oak Creek, Colorado and Jerry Bleuer of Walsenburg, Colorado; two grandchildren Jeremy and Jessica Bleuer, his brother and sisters, Rolland Bleuer of West Bend, Iowa, Irene (Dr. Delbert) Anliker of Spencer, Iowa and Bernadine (Dan) Schneider of Casper, Wyoming. He was preceded in death by his wife Doryce in 1994, parents, and a an infant sister Marjorie. Paul was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul’s Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus and the West Bend American Legion Post.
