SALEM – Patty Lou Shaffer, age 77, of Salem, died at 9:25 a.m. Thursday, August 17, 2017 at the Auburn Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. She was born July 11, 1940 in New Matamoras, Ohio, daughter of the late Frank R. and Ruth (Moore) Crawford.

Before their retirement in 1990, Patty and her husband, Kenneth, were the owners of the former Salem Glass and Mirror and the former Touch of Glass.

She was a member of the First Christian Church in Salem and a Sunday school teacher for 7 years. Patty was a leader of both Camp Fire and Boy Scouts, and a former member of Quota Club.

Her husband, Kenneth L. Shaffer, whom she married in 1961, survives her along with a daughter, Morlinda M. (Walter) Kruegel of Port St. Lucie, Florida; a son, Tab A. (Darla) Shaffer of Salem; a sister, Linda K. Huffer of Salem; 11 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were two brothers, Alan L. Crawford and Ralph Myers.
