Ms. Patsy Elizabeth McCollum Valines 79, of 410 Enoch Street, in Burlington, NC transitioned from labor to reward on Tuesday January 4, 2022 at her home. She was born to Rev. George McCollum and Eliza Roberts McCollum on April 12, 1942 in Alamance County.
Patsy was married to James Valines for over 40 years. Patsy was a faithful housewife and homemaker for her family. She loved her cat “Booger” and her baby doll. During her earlier years she was a member of Clinton Memorial Christian Church but later joined the ministry of St. Matthews AME Church in Burlington, NC.
She was survived by her son Barry Valines (Elizabeth); daughter, Jennifer Valines (Richard Haith Sr.); eight grandchildren: Lakeisha Onnie Wongwon, Antonio Kirkpatrick, Syretta King, Leon Haith, Jennajah Valines, Jamauree Haith, Joshua Love and Amayah Valines; five great grandchildren; three-in-laws: Bishop Ricky Valines (Teresa), Linda Valines Ingram (David) and Dionne Vanhook (Marvin) along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Patsy was preceded in death by her parents Rev. George McCollum and Eliza Roberts McCollum; husband, James Valines; son, Michael McCollum; brothers, Nepolian McCollum, Jack McCollum, Levi McCollum, Billy McCollum, Charlie McCollum, Calvin McCollum, James McCollum and Lacey McCollum; sisters, Nadine M. Jackson, Betty Lou McColum. Two nieces that were raised as her sisters, Judy White and Jean Ann Herbin and a nephew George “Foy” McCollum who was raised as her brother.
