Lakeland – Patsy Ann Plaire Carey, 70, went home to be with the Lord, Friday, November 22, 2013, as a result of cancer.
Ms. Carey was born February 26, 1943 in Valdosta, GA. She and her family moved to Lakeland in 1952. She was employed by Watson Clinic, where she served as a medical transcriptionist. She retired in 2010. Ms. Carey loved art and enjoyed painting and expressing her creativity.
Ms. Carey was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Kelly Edmonds and her father, Marvin O. Plaire. She is survived by her loving son, Paul J. Carey, Jr. and his wife, Katherine; mother, Leila Plaire Gossett; sisters, Sue Dorrell and her husband, Dan and Kathryn Smith and her husband, Gregory; brother, Buddy Plaire and his wife, Tommi Sue; and many other loving family members and dear friends.
