Patrick J. Phalen, 79, of Peru, passed away April 4, 2014 at IVCH in Peru.
Mr. Phalen was born on October 13, 1934 in Mendota to Robert and Gertrude (Sondgeroth) Phalen. He married Elaine Green on May 8, 1954 at Holy Cross Church in Mendota. He owned and operated Phalen’s House of Draperies in Mendota for 42 years. He was past president of LaSalle-Peru Kiwanis Club and was a 50 year member of the Mendota Elks Lodge #1212.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Elaine of Peru; their three daughters, Patricia “Lane” (Robert) Bresticker of Elburn, Cynthia (David) Schlesinger of Earlville, and Lori Phalen Meadows of Grayslake; three grandchildren, Brad Meadows, Blair Meadows, and Jayde Schlesinger who were his pride and joy; two sisters, Kathleen (Earl) Currie of North Oaks, MN and Elaine (Floyd) Setchell of Mendota.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Colleen Greenwood and Coni Truty. Pallbearers will be David Schlesinger, Cynthia Schlesinger, Jayde Schlesinger, Lori Phalen Meadows, Brad Meadows, and Blair Meadows. Honorary pallbearers will be Patricia “Lane” Bresticker and Rob Bresticker.
