We have lost a bright and smiling light.  Pat Henry, died last night.  We weep with his wife, Audrey, his daughter, Dianna, his son, Mike, as well as his seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
If you knew Pat, you knew his warm smile and engaging humor.  He was married 60 years to Audrey — what a great testimony and example!

Besides his faith and family, Pat’s passions were winemaking and woodworking — which you might call two rather biblical pursuits!

We’re going to miss Pat.  There’s a time to mourn and weep.  And this is one of those times.  We mourn with Audrey and Dianna and the rest of the family.
But, we do not mourn or weep as those who have no hope.  Pat’s death is not the end of Pat’s story.  As C.S. Lewis colorfully reminded us, Pat just got through only the cover and title page.  Now at last he is beginning Chapter 1 of the Great Story which no one on earth has read, which goes on forever, and in which every chapter is better than the one before.

And all this, of course, is because of the life, death, resurrection and ascension of Pat’s Savior, and ours, Jesus Christ the Righteous.  What a comfort the gospel of Jesus Christ really is at a time like this.
