PATRICK H. BERENS
Patrick H. Berens peacefully passed away from this life on Saturday, November 2, 2013. He is now with God and the love of his life, Genevieve, who died on March 5, 2011. He grieved for her everyday since her death. He leaves behind seven children: Gerard Berens (Janet Connolly-Berens), Trish Bishaw, (Jack Jr.), Barbara Berens (Bill Hughes), Thomas Berens (Connie), Charles Berens, Joanne Berens (Jean-Robert Jean-Baptiste) and Kathleen Berens Haas (Thomas); ten grand children and four great grandchildren; two surviving siblings: Arlene Berens Swartz and Joseph Berens. He was a former Kansas cattle rancher and Navy Veteran of WWII discharged with the rank of Machinist Mate 1st Class. He proudly served in Africa, Italy, England, and France. He had many interesting storied regarding Navy life. Patrick worked for Proctor & Gamble for 38 years. Working for P&G, he said “was the second best decision I ever made after marring your mother.” Upon retirement they moved to Sierra Vista and had lived here for the last 30 years. He was a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus and very active parishioner St.
