Patrick E. Mullen, 73, Jonesboro, passed away at Marion General Hospital on January 3, 2022.

He was born in Marion, Indiana, on January 4, 1948, to the late Lester and Dolores (Holloway) Mullen. Pat graduated from Fairmount High School with the class of 1966. After graduation, he joined the United States Marine Corps. He served his country four years, one of those years being in Viet Nam. Pat married his loving wife, Margaret Cumbey on May 29, 1971. They spent 50 years together raising a family, traveling the United States, and serving their community through their church. Pat was a hard worker who retired from the VA Hospital after 25 years. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved being outdoors.

Pat was a generous friend, always helping family and friends in need with odd jobs, moving, and construction projects. He was an adoring husband, loving and kind father, doting grandpa. He shared his wisdom, time, and attention with his family. He was an active member of the Fairmount Baptist Church, where he held several offices throughout the years. He was a believer in Jesus Christ and lived that out as an example to others. He was an active member of the Marine Corps League, holding the office of Chaplain. He was a member of the Honor Guard that provided gun salutes to our fallen veterans. He never wanted any veteran to be forgotten.

He will be greatly missed by his wife Margie, daughter Julie (Paul) Wallace, son James Mullen, grandson Braeden Mullen, three sisters: Beth Gugel, Kay Watson, and Phyllis Skeens, and one brother Donny (SuzAnne) Mullen.

Preceding him in death was one brother Ronnie Mullen, and three brothers-in-law: Tom Gugel, Dick Watson, and Tim Skeens.
