B. Patricia “Pat” Giel, 53, of Milford, beloved wife of 25 years to William O. Giel, departed this life on Thursday, February 1, 2007 at her home with her husband and son at her side. Pat was born on June 22, 1953 in Queens, daughter of the late Raymond and Matilda (Higgins) Kelly. Pat worked as auditor for the IRS in the early 1980’s before moving to Milford with her family, where she began her second career as a stay-at-home Mom. While her son attended Calf Pen Meadow School, Pat was an active member of the PTA, serving as Treasurer and Vice President. Pat also served as an elected member of the Milford Board of Education from 1993 – 1997. She taught CCD classes at St. Agnes’ Parish from 1994 -1999 and later worked in the admissions department of a local nursing home. She was also a die-hard NY Yankees fan. Pat was a source of inspiration for many of her friends and associates, as she bravely dealt with the ravages of Lou Gherig’s Disease. Pat will be sadly missed by her husband, William O. Giel of Milford. Her beloved son, William R. Giel of Milford. Her sister, Eileen Kelly of Ireland along with numerous friends.
