Ms. Chagnon was born in Marlboro, the daughter of Phyllis (Dodge) Gilliatt of Sudbury and the late Archie Gilliatt. She grew up in Marlboro, was educated in local schools, and graduated from Marlboro High School.
In addition to her husband and mother, she leaves three sons, Joseph Choiniere of Pahrump, Nevada, Steven Choiniere, Sr. of Bellingham, and Kenneth Choiniere of Millville; two daughters, Lauri Roque of Bessemer City, NC, and Karen Rapp of Upton; four stepsons, Jay Gentili of Upton, Steven Gentili of Rome, ME, Joseph Chagnon of Amherst, and Ronald Chagnon of Texas; two brothers, Frank Gilliatt of Marlboro and Archie Gilliatt, Jr. of Hudson; two sisters, Jean White of Athol and Pauline Clark of Franktown, Colorado; 17 grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and many beloved pets.
