Patricia Louise “Pat” Manchego, 73 years young, passed away March 28, 2013 in Pueblo, Colorado. She was born in Denver, Colorado on April 15, 1939 to Samuel B. and Gertrude L. (Smith) Dunham. Pat moved to Canon City from Denver and worked as a medical staff coordinator at both St. Thomas More and St. Mary Corwin hospitals. She retired in 2004. Pat was a kind, loving, intelligent, and gifted person on her own schedule. She loved reading, singing, teaching, learning arts and crafts, performing, card games, and baseball. In high school, she sang with “The Specs”. Pat won a gold medal at nationals with Sweet Adeline’s out of Denver in the 80’s. She belonged to the Fremont Civic Choir, Fremont Civic Theatre, and the Royal Gorge Artists Association. She helped with Beginning Experience in New Mexico, and volunteered for numerous organizations including Progressive Care Center and Fremont County 4-H. She recently completed a class “Going out in Style” with Marcia Beachy. Ms. Manchego is survived by her daughters, Patti Jo (Donald) Wagner of Canon City, Judith Rosanne (Dave) Hall of Evergreen, CO, Donelle Judean Kevin) Maul of Loveland, CO, and Marietta Carey of Springfield, NM; eleven grandchildren; numerous in-law grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Edward Joseph Manchego; daughter, Jana Lee Manchego; her parents; and brothers, Donald D. Dunham and Frank D. Dunham.
