Patricia Lee Sleffel, 33, of Jacksonville, FL, passed away at home on May 14, 2015 due to a seizure after a courageous battle with multiple sclerosis. Patricia was born in Columbus, OH, on October 1, 1981 to Patrick and Gretchen Sleffel.

Patricia was a 1999 graduate of Teays Valley High School in Ashville, OH, and graduated first in her class from Pickaway Ross Joint Vocational School’s Emergency Medical Tech program that same year. Patricia also graduated from Columbus State (OH) Community Colleges Emergency Medical Dispatcher Course. Patricia spent much of her youth in Rome, GA, and often said she was part of GRITS (Girls Raised in the South).

She previously worked for Rural-Metro Ambulance in Columbus as a Dispatcher and Emergency Medical Technician and for Orange Park (FL) Medical Center as an ER Technician and Unit Secretary.

Patricia was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Gretchen, and her older brother, Patrick Sleffel III.

Patricia is survived by her husband, Jason Hull of Jacksonville, FL, her father and step-mother, Patrick and Jacquelyn Sleffel of Midland, TX, her grandparents, Patrick and Joyce Sleffel of Grove City, OH, and brother and sister-in-law, Patrick and Elizabeth Sleffel, IV of Columbus, OH.

Patricia had a lifelong passion for music, sports and helping others through her interest in emergency medicine. She played both the saxophone and flute, and played 3rd base on several police and fire department softball teams before suffering a stroke in 2005. Patricia showed incredible courage battling back from total one-sided paralysis, enduring an extremely strenuous physical therapy regimen to regain normal function in all areas.

Patricia had a lasting effect on those around her and had an uncanny ability to make everyone smile, even in the most difficult of times. She was a beloved daughter, sister, wife and a good friend to many and will be eternally missed.
