HAVERHILL – Patricia A. (LaVine) Langston, 64, longtime Haverhill resident and formerly of Wilmington, passed away peacefully on January 18, 2019, surrounded by her family at the High Pointe Hospice House, Haverhill, after a long courageous battle with cancer.
She was born in Medford on September 20, 1954, daughter of Madeline (Valente) LaVine and the late Richard LaVine. Patricia graduated from Wilmington High School in 1972. She married Malcolm Langston on October 7, 1972 in Woburn.
Prior to her illness she was employed by the IRS full-time as a Tax Examiner for 30 years. She also worked part-time over the years for a tax accountant. Despite her hectic schedule, she had opened her home and became a foster parent and fostered over 186 teenagers over a 25 year period.
In her spare time, she enjoyed nights on the deck by the firepit, and music with her family and friends. She enjoyed playing Left Right Center, poker, doing word searches and jumble puzzles. Her passion was always her children, grandchildren and her family.
Her surviving family members include husband of 47 years Malcom Langston of Haverhill; mother Madeline (Valente) LaVine and her significant other Joe Deegan of Wilmington; three daughters Kim Langston, Shannon Bruno and Krystal Langston all of Haverhill. She will be deeply missed by her beloved grandchildren Kassandra, Matthew, Talon, Madilyn and Romeo; great-grandson JJ; brothers Richard LaVine and wife Janet of Tewksbury, Stephen LaVine of Lowell, Mark LaVine and wife Holly of Nashua, NH and Todd LaVine and wife Camilla of No. Reading; and several nieces and nephews; cherished sister of the late Denise LaVine.
Forever a devoted wife and dedicated loving mother and grandmother. She was a true fighter and a positive, driven, determined woman who touched the lives of so many and will be deeply missed by all.
