Patricia L. “Pat” Smith, 88, of Moravian Hall Square in Nazareth, and formerly of Bethlehem, passed away Monday, December 5, 2016 at Lehigh Valley Hospital – Muhlenberg. She was the loving wife of Halfred C. “Hal” Smith. They celebrated 65 years of marriage on September 9th of this year.

Born in Grand Rapids, Michigan, she was the daughter of the late Noble B. and Katherine (Dykstra) Anderson. Pat was a graduate of Central High School in Battle Creek, Michigan in 1947, where she was president of her senior class and where she met her future husband. Pat worked for Clark Equipment Co. until 1951, when she married and moved to Bethlehem, Pa.

She was active in the community serving as a docent and member of the Board of Directors of the Moravian Museum, serving as President for several years. As a member of Central Moravian Church, she served two terms as an Elder. Pat was recognized by the City of Bethlehem as a Volunteer of the Year in 1998. She enjoyed traveling and was an enthusiastic skier and golfer.

Survivors: Surviving with her devoted husband, Hal are sons, Dale Thomas Smith and his wife, Karen of Saddle River, NJ, Jason Derek Smith and his wife, Paola of Fernandina Beach, FL, and a daughter, LeeAnn Kay Wise and her husband, Mitchell of Tannersville, PA; brother, Jack Anderson of Bloomfield Hills, Michigan; 6 grandchildren, Catherine, Stephanie and Alessandra Smith, Michelle Shock, Kelsey Wise, Gregory Wise and his wife Allison and a great-grandson, Jameson. She was preceded in death by a son, Dean Gordon Smith who passed away in 1975.
